Calgary Neighborhood Overview: Abbeydale

Abbeydale is a neighborhood located in the northeast quadrant, It is bordered by the Trans-Canada Highway to the north, Stoney Trail to the east, Canadian National Railway tracks to the south, and 68 Street E to the west. It was annexed by the city of Calgary in 1976. According to the 2016 census, the population of Abbeydale was 6,150 and the median household income was $81,232. About 31% of the residents were immigrants and 21% had low incomes. A small percentage of the buildings in the area were apartments or condos and a quarter of them were being used for renting. The community has 2 schools Abbeydale Elementary (public) and St. Kateri Tekakwitha Elementary School (catholic).
