Acadia is a neighborhood located in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is bordered by Macleod Trail to the west, the Bow River to the east, Heritage Drive to the north, and Southland Drive to the south. The land was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1956 and the neighborhood was established in 1960. The main street in Acadia is Fairmount Drive, where many of the area's businesses are located. Lord Beaverbrook High School, the city's largest high school, is also located in the neighborhood, as well as many others. In 2012, the population of Acadia was 10,705 with a median household income of $46,089. The area has a diverse population with 19.4% of residents being immigrants. The neighborhood is served by Calgary Transit Bus Route 99, the Heritage CTrain Station, and Route 10.
