Calgary Neighborhood Overview: Country Hills

Country Hills is a residential neighborhood located in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. The area is bordered by Country Hills Boulevard to the north, Beddington Trail to the south, Harvest Hills Boulevard to the east, and the Country Hills golf course to the southwest. West Nose Creek also borders the neighborhood.
The community was established in 1990 and is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 3 councilor. In 2012, the population of Country Hills was 3,728 living in 1,426 dwellings, with a population density of 1,960/km2. Country Hills Village, a new community located in the northeast of the neighborhood, had a population of 2,615 living in 1,467 dwellings, with a population density of 2,600/km2.
The median household income in Country Hills was $70,237 in 2000, and 7.4% of residents were low income. About 18.7% of the residents were immigrants, and 9.5% of the buildings were condominiums or apartments. The Country Hills Library, located at 11950 Country Village Link N.E. in VIVO (formerly Cardel Place), serves the community.
The future Green Line LRT will serve the area with a station set to be built at 96th Avenue N, and another station is planned at the current Northpointe bus terminal. An airport LRT link is also planned to be built, connecting the 96th Avenue station with Calgary International Airport and the future 88th Avenue station on the Blue Line LRT in Savanna.
