Calgary Neighborhood Overview: Cranston

Cranston is a residential community in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, bounded by Stoney Trail to the north, Fish Creek Park and the Bow River to the west and south, and Deerfoot Trail to the east. It has a population of 11,857 as per the 2012 municipal census, with a population density of 1,429/km2 in 2012. The community has two public elementary schools and one separate board K-9 school, as well as Century Hall - a private Cranston residents recreation facility. Cranston Market is a feature of the community that provides residents with various stores and services, and the Cranston Residents Association at Century Hall offers access to a gymnasium, ice rink, tennis courts, hockey rink, basketball courts, a playground, and a waterpark, as well as various registered programs for children and adults. Cranston residents have access to Riverstone, which is surrounded by green spaces, Fish Creek park, and accessible pathways that create a picturesque living space.
